Question 1

Are there any recurring subscriptions or hidden charges?

Accepted Answer

No. Absolutely not. ScholarSpec operates on a strict pay-as-you-go model. There are no monthly recurring subscriptions, no hidden surprise fees, and no automatic credit card renewals. You only pay when you format a document.

Question 2

How does the 14-day free revision window work?

Accepted Answer

When you purchase a pass, it remains active for 14 days. If your advisor, journal reviewer, or committee requests revisions, you can re-upload your revised draft under the same pass and download updated formatted files at zero additional cost.

Question 3

Do lab credits ever expire?

Accepted Answer

No. Document credits never expire. You can purchase a 20-credit, 50-credit, or 100-credit pack and redeem credits across all your research papers and thesis submissions over multiple semesters or academic years.

Question 4

Can I pay using a university procurement card (P-Card)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our checkout via Dodo Payments accepts institutional P-Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). For large lab packs (100 credits or custom departmental orders), we can also issue pro-forma invoices payable via ACH or wire transfer.

Question 5

What happens to my manuscript data and confidentiality?

Accepted Answer

Your unpublished intellectual property is 100% confidential. Manuscripts are stored securely on Google Cloud for up to 24 hours so you can download revisions, and are automatically deleted permanently after 24 hours. You can also permanently delete your files instantly at any time from your audit screen. We never train AI models on user drafts.

Question 6

What if a journal desk-rejects my manuscript due to formatting?

Accepted Answer

Every pass includes our Academic Compliance Guarantee. If an editorial office flags any formatting discrepancy within your 14-day window, submit the reviewer remarks via our issue reporter and our team will adjust the profile or issue a replacement pass immediately.
